About Lift Development

My name is Dave Yankowiak, and Lift Development was originally formed as a side project of mine in 2003. As my experience with website design and programming has increased so has my desire to offer these skills to organizations through my own company. The overall goal with Lift Development is "advancement through web-related technology," and my primary areas of expertise include website design, ASP.NET web application programming, and technology consulting.

Professionally

I obtained my B.A. in Business as a 1999 graduate of Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. Upon graduation, I spent a few years working in the development department of The Salvation Army's Northern Division. It was an experience that really opened my eyes to the power of non-profits.

It was my involvement with database systems while working there, as well as some dabbling in web design, that led me to pursue further education in the web technologies realm. I graduated from the Web Design & eBusinees program of Minneapolis' NEI College of Technology in 2003.

Shortly after graduation I began a career as an ASP.NET Web Application Developer with a successful marketing services firm based in St. Paul. Since then, I have worked to develop numerous successful applications for clients that include several Fortune 500 companies.

Personally

I currently reside in Grand Rapids, Minnesota with my wife, Sarah, and daughters Annika and Sofie. We also have a large boxer/yellow lab mix dog named Chance. He's blind in one eye. We've debated getting a patch for him to make him look like a pirate-dog.

This region of Minnesota is known for beautiful lakes and a national forest, and I enjoy just about anything involving these two features including fishing, canoeing, hiking, biking, photography, and camping. I also have a deep love of all kinds of music, and actually played in a semi-touring rock band during the college years. That's how first started getting dabbling in web development: I also acted as the band's webmaster back then.
